Took a bit of work to install in our pottery barn Marin media center, but works well so far. Has foiled our toddler (knock on wood) for now. Seems sturdy.

Compared to the cabinet locks at the big-box home improvement store, these are quite a bit more expensive. However, you get what you pay for in this instance. These are much sturdier than the others, and while my 1yr old has been able to muscle the other open due to the plastic flexing, he cannot open force the door open with these. Also, the ability to have these installed, but locked in the down position means it is like not have locks at all. This is a great feature for grandparents or others who don't have the little one all the time, but still need cabinet locks on occation.

This one comes with an inner latch which is very important as many cabinets do not have the correct offset for the hook to grab. This one was also much easier to align than the cheaper version on a single pivot point as the dual track allowed for it to have a set max and minimum while holding the hook at an angle where it will catch the latch completely. The less expensive pivot version will very easily be installed not have a solid contact as they are flipping up at an angle to catch rather then the whole hook staying at 90 deg. Solid latch all be it a little pricey for 10c plastic from china.

Two years later, I am downgrading my rating on these locks. They have not stood up against normal toddler terror. The hooks have broken on many of the locks installed in high-traffic cabinets. They worked well when my daughter was just starting to be mobile but fail to stand up to her now that she's really on the move.

Very Effective at keeping our dog out of the food cabinet. It was easy to install. And it has been sturdy enough to make it through all the times I forget it is there when I try to open the cabinet door without first depressing the lock!

There weren't enough screws for all the locks, and some of the screws were faulty and could not be used (insert for screwdriver was misshapen.

It operates as advertised!

Feel kinda cheap, but work pretty well.
