Very happy with this 20 LPI file. I'm being cautious, and staying away from using it on hardened steel, but so far works well on fine grained wood, resin, plastic, aluminum. No broken teeth as some report. Interestingly the two sides of the file have different numbers of rows, though the same spacing.

This file has worked great for making fine-toothed jimping. Use on annealed steel for best results

My first time at knife jimping and this file made it go easy! Cuts good. Only wish it was an inch wide but a fine first file.

This is a really nicely made checkering file. In fact it's so hard, I could barely engrave my name on it with a very powerful electric scribing machine I've had for the last 40 years. This is the first time it's met its match.As a blademaker, I tried it on my hardest tempered knife and softer metals as well, it makes perfect 20LPI checkering on both.
