Q: Can it cut a hole in Hardie backer board?

I cut 25 holes trough stainless steel so would think it would go through hardy board

Q: Is is good for fiberglass?

Never used on fiberglass. I think you could just go to your regular hardware store and get any decent/cheaper hole saw (for fiberglass). Maybe ran in reverse if arbor allows it. And as always always test cut on scrap material first. The teeth on this cutter did break after cutting three holes on thin steel. Prefer the miliwaukee 50x carbide business it is not offered in a 2-3/4 inch. Even a good $100 version breaks if used after a house or two. So to me these type of cutter are just not worth it as you can break )2 or 3) of 5 teeth easily.

Q: Is this compatible with a simple skil drill?

It should. Although I used it in a drill press, it does fit in my handheld corded and cordless drills.
