This product has a quality look and feel. It is easy to fill and it grinds the pepper much finer than other pepper mills I have had it the past.

excellent and hold double most other brands

We were looking to replace our previous pepper grinder which was built much the same. We'd had it for almost 20 years so were very happy with it. This one was a bigger version, but was the same design & made of the same materials. We liked the clear design over wood or other opaque materials because it lets you know exactly how much is left in the grinder. We really loved our former, but now broken, pepper grinder, so we were hoping this one would be a match for it. I'm really happy to say it exceeded expectations! We're both older now, me in my 50's, him in his 60's, & we both have a spent a lifetime working with our hands & have varying degrees of arthritis & carpal tunnel syndrome. This pepper grinder is a little bigger in height but also in diameter so it makes it much easier for sore hands to hold & use. The adjustment from coarse to fine grind is excellent! We're both chefs by trade & use this daily so it really gets a workout. It's not just a pretty ornament for a table setting. It's only been a month, but so far this little guy is holding up beautifully & I hope we get another 20 years from this one! It's a great pepper mill!

I bought this to replace my old trusty pepper mill that finally bit the dust. At first, I was a little disappointed that this mill was not as solidly built as the old one but, as soon as I started grinding, this thing was an order of magnitude better at grinding as the old one. I've had to relearn my technique because this thing is so efficient. So far, I'm very happy with it. Let's see if it lasts like the old one.

Works good for pepper & salt

Another update 06/08/2020:I constantly find myself having to refill the pepper mill. Even with just one person the capacity leaves a lot to be desired. Deduct two stars for inconvenience (capacity and hard to grasp). If I did this all over I'd find another set.Additional note after using these:For people with limited mobility in their hands the pepper mill may not work well. As noted in my review both of these are fairly small and I've found with my large hands the pepper mill is a little difficult to operate. For the elderly, or those with arthritis, the effort to operate the small pepper mill may make it unusable. Just beware this is a small set which works well - but may require a degree of dexterity some may not have.Original review follows:This is a nice little set with an emphasis on little. For one or two people these would work well, but for a larger family you might find yourself filling these often because they don't hold a lot of either salt or pepper. For me they work.This product arrives empty. You will need to provide your own table salt and peppercorns.The salt shaker is exactly what is stated - a shaker. You fill it with table salt from the bottom via a removable rubber plug. You'll have to cover the top with your palm while filling which isn't a major issue.The pepper mill is also exactly what is stated - a mill. You will need to fill this with peppercorns. Unlike the salt shaker the pepper mill refills by unscrewing the top. Pretty basic.

Great pepper mill for the price so far.

My previous salt shaker and pepper grinder set needed replacement - the pepper grinder was fine, but the salt shaker had metal parts near the holes and the metal had corroded to an ugly greenish color. This LHS set is perfect! The outside of the salt shaker is all acrylic and very pretty. A previous reviewer mentioned that the salt is loaded from the bottom, but I didn't have difficulty with that. The rubber "plug" at the bottom seems OK - we'll see if it deteriorates with age.

I needed to replace my last pepper grinder that stopped working. I would have preferred something a little bigger, but this is okay. I like the look and it works very well.

The screw to maintain the grinding coarseness keeps loosening while grinding, and the grind is becoming inconsistent after a few weeks. Not impressed.

I would have liked it to be more sturdy for the money.

On the first use, the plastic top broke on and turned complete 360 degrees, the square plastic hole in the top cracked and the plastic teeth that were supposed to reinforce it broke off. The word Pepper is spelled wrong... Pay the extra and get a brand named OXO or something. Returned for refund.
