The Zoom H4n Pro 4-Track Portable Recorder has been an absolute game-changer for my professional recording projects and interviews. I like this Hn4 due to the simplicity in being able to record. Speaker is lousy, but with headphones, great.

The media could not be loaded. Great mic, I am just having difficulty with the volume recording (it's not loud enough but everyone else's seems to be, so I need to figure out that important detail). It takes a LONG time to turn on (which is annoying enough to lose one star), otherwise it's a fantastic mic. I previously had the cheaper Zoom H1n and it was fabulous. HOWEVER, it stopped working after only maybe 20 uses (30 max). Yet, the sound quality from Zoom was impressive enough that I decided to give Zoom another chance and got the H4n Pro. It's a heavier mic, does more; probably most of the stuff I won't utilize, so there's that. Oh! And I love how easy it is to transfer files from the mic to the computer (a MUCH faster process than the H1n). I'm happy with this big guy, and excited to learn how to use it to its promise. It also comes with a sturdy protective plastic case, which is appreciated.

Quite a powerful piece of equipment. Great as a traveling usb interface, incredible as a field microphone. Love it!!!!

We needed a quick, affordable solution to our inability to hold a full concert for our high school band due to COVID-19 restrictions on large, indoor gatherings. This device, when paired with our already available equipment, was more than up to the task in the hands of our capable Arts Department instructors.The four channels allowed us to capture and highlight different sections and performers as required by the musical selection, and the batteries in the device allowed for multiple uninterrupted recording sessions longer than an hour. We paired the audio recordings with a video log that our Arts Department filmed independently, syncing the two together during editing.We definitely ran up against some limitations as we were capturing music from over 50 performers all at once, but we were very impressed by how we were able to quickly pivot from our concert plans to a music video production by using this device. Highly recommended.

I use the Zoom H4N Pro with my camera to record live concerts. Sometimes I get a direct XLR connection to the board but most of the time I don't. The H4N is super easy to use. Straight out of the box just put in a 32gb SD card, 2 AA batteries, set your recording levels and it's good to go. The microphones far exceeded my expectations when I recorded Judas Priest on their 50 years of metal tour. So much better than the cell phone audio you get on utube. The batteries last a good while - Not 100% sure how long but I always keep a couple of sets of fresh on hand just in case.The only part I do not care for is the Generation 1 micro USB connection it uses. Granted, you don't really need it except if you want to connect to a computer for updates or mixing software etc - Seriously - that thing needs to go.Otherwise - its a great product.
