HEY, be careful friends. I see many a person upset with their purchase, and I believe it is not the products fault. Sony makes multiple models of PS4 with varying degrees of difficulty in changing this unit.Check a few things to ensure this product is correct. Is your PS4 model number listed in this product's title? And are you familiar or comfortable with the inside of electronics. You will need to be able to pry off the top layer of plastic (gently). Remove the Power Unit (which I believe you should use fine pliers to unplug cords which get in the way). Then remove and reinstall the Optical Drive (Disc tray).Fairly easy. Great product. Works on blurays, DVDs and games perfect. No power or ejection issues. Just ensure you have the right model. And make sure you aren't going to destroy your own console through lack of patience, or too much strength.

Installation is super simple and easy, and there are plenty of videos on YouTube if you need help. Unfortunately, the drive I received was defective. After putting in a disk, the new drive just gave continuous clicking sounds as though it were typing out Morse Code until my PS4 console finally gave up and gave a blue screen with an "Error" message. Returning and hoping I have better luck with the replacement. Sigh . . .

Installed it into a CUH-1215A PS4 that I had received that had a faulty disc drive. Works flawlessly and without any issues in reading and loading disc contents. Only issue was the lack of promised tools with said purchase of the drive. Regardless, it works wonderfully for any CUH-1215A PS4.

Does not play normal dvds only blurays

Did not come with the Phillips screw driver but it did come with the t8 you need. Other than that very simple to install. Very happy with my purchase.

Was brand new, no concerns or issues; installed easily, and works like a charm. Very happy with this reader, and my PS4 isn't a paperweight anymore, YAY!!!!

Item is wrong part and dodnt come with the tools. Luckly the amazon support where helpful in refunding the money for this part. One star for the order for sure.

The drive itself seems fine, but package did not include the special security Torx driver required for installation. It's not worth the premium price without the tools.
