Great starter pack
Why did you pick this product vs others?:A name that I have trusted for years. My kids just got their first place and I bought this as a starter pack for anything DIY. It comes with all of the basic tools that you need for anything around the house along with a high quality tool bag.

Don't think you're buying a carpentry kit— and you'll be happy
Look, the reviews on this almost turned me off and that's pretty depressing because this set is solid. I bought this set because my wife and I have a place out of town and I hated lugging my proper tools on a plane or in the car. I worked construction to pay for school before I became a software dork so I'm no stranger to a real Dewalt set and corded Milwaukee Hole Hawg right-angle drill for boring through studs before a rough wall inspection. Here's the kicker on this set— the drill bits are trash— three of them have broken off in studs for me and it's been 2 weeks, the first one broke on the first use. If you're buying this because you need to drill some holes in studs and want to have a set, don't bother. The hole saw bits aren't a lot better (but at least haven't broken on me), and the wedge hole bits are just 'fine'. The screwdrivers are way too big and kinda stupid for day-to-day use, they're closer to 'Fisher Price screw size' than anything you'll ever be using in real life.On the other hand everything else is perfectly acceptable for 'home tool set' quality— ratcheting screwdriver has been awesome, the pliers, hammer, bit shank, and tips for the shank are great. The bit shank doesn't have a collar to hold a screw but that's to be expected for the money. The drill itself is perfectly serviceable. Again— you're not going to be drilling concrete or doing a whole drywall install with this thing, but if you're hanging pictures, a few TVs, maybe screwing together some cabinets it's just fine. It's lightweight but powerful enough and functional without being overkill. Overdo it with this thing and you'll strip it out. Don't be a hero.Remember the price you paid and you'll be happy.Downsides: the flathead and phillips screwdrivers (not the ratcheting one that accepts any tip with the shank) are uselessly large— better as prying tools than for driving normal sized screws. Use the ratcheting screwdriver and the shank with a tip and you've got every screwdriver you'll ever need. The drill bits are bad. Just... honestly throw them away when you buy this; I broke two in a stud immediately and it kinda screwed up a project, no pun intended.Upsides: Lightweight and serviceable drill, 20V B&D family (I'm considering the stick vac and sander for our vacation house), great ratcheting screwdriver, sizable collection of tips, pliers are good, small tape measure has saved my ass a couple times when I lost my proper Stanley one (and my wife likes the little one better), carrying bag is thin but very usable and fits everything perfectly. The hammer is light (wife likes it, same deal) but just fine.Ideal buyer? If you know the limitations of a *home* tool set and need to restock your house after a move/divorce/breakup where you left your tools with your ex and know you'll backfill the things that break/don't work later.Less than ideal buyer? If you think you're getting a kickass drill and tool kit for a steal to start at your electrician's apprenticeship next week. Move along, spend some more cash. If you're a serious home project guy/gal and (also) think you're getting a steal on a pro set— this is not that. If you're a big tool nerd and want the latest stuff on the market— still not you.People who left horrible reviews? My best guess is former pros or current ones that were looking for a all-in-one kit for cheap. This set will kit you out for everything you want to do at home as a HOME user, for not bad cash. If you saw 'home' in my review and thought "well maybe this will be enough...", you should be looking elsewhere already. If you saw 'home' and thought "great, my 'X' just broke so I'll get this to replace it", look elsewhere. If you saw 'home' and thought "oh yeah, I have an apartment, hang pictures, mount shelves now and then, and sometimes want to screw some IKEA stuff together", pull the trigger here.

Good Item
Recently my old cordless battery finally gave out and will not hold a charge, it's an old NiCad and they are notorious for not holding a charge. I decided to go on Amazon to find a replacement battery, unfortunately it was $45-50 for a battery, so I figured it would be better to get a new cordless. I found the drill and the battery for around $45.00, but after scrolling down a bit I found this listing, and after reading all the positive and negative reviews I decide to give it a shot. The order arrived a week ago, and once it arrived I gave the battery a full charge (3-4 hours), just like the manual had indicated. Today I finally decided to test the drill, and it performed very well. I drove 5, 3" wood screws thru a piece of 2X4, and there was no problem. Someone had wrote a review that they couldn't drive any screws, I'm willing to bet that they did not adjust the clutch. You need to start out at the lowest setting, once the clutch slips move to a higher setting until it does not slip. Next I tried a few of the drill bits thru the 2X4 and it worked fine, just got to remember to go a a steady pace, and back out every so often to clear the material. I didn't try any other tools that came with this kit, the reason it was stupid. They just ordinary tools if you can't use them right then don't buy this item. The only "negative" I can leave on this product is the bag is very crappy. When I received the order I didn't think all the tools would fit in the bag, but it did with some extra room for a few more odd and ends. That's the plus side, however it lacks pockets and the fabric is terrible, some kind of 200 grade nylon (I work for a bag manufacture).Over all, I like this item, and it was a good buy for the price. I was more interested in the cordless performance, torque, and battery longevity more than anything else. All the other accessories I already have, but for the price they were a nice feature, and a good back up. I only use my cordless a 4-5 a year so it's perfect for me, but if you are "pro" this is not for you. Go get a Dewalt, they are the best. I hope this helps someone.

LOTS of tools
I mainly wanted the drill but I’m not gonna say no to a bunch of other tools too! Unexpectedly, the box cutter has been the thing I’ve used the most by far in this set. Everything else works great though. This is a great set to buy to just help ensure you have some of the basic tools needed. The main thing missing from it is hex keys. But you usually get them from furniture that need them anyways.

Powerful, precise and very easy to use!
I'm really impressed with this drill. From the first use you can see the quality of construction and the power of the engine. It is perfect for both home jobs and more demanding projects. I have used it in wood, concrete and metal, and the performance has been excellent in all cases. The battery lasts a long time and recharges quickly (if it is wireless), and the ergonomic design makes it very comfortable to handle even during long sessions. In addition, it comes with a good set of accessories that are very useful.Without a doubt, a tool that every DIY amateur or professional should have. Totally recommended!

Powerful drill. Make sure you adjust the settings. It tightens screws FAST. Comes with bits, driver ends and a parcel of hand tools with a carrying bag to boot.
