For the price, I install around 50 fans per year. This remote is well worth the price. It is NON dimmable, making it right for CFL's or LED non dim bulbs. Easy to install, Evan a knuckle head can install it. Ladies, if your husband can't do it, call your boyfriend to do it. Make sure the motor pull chain, is set to high. High-Medium-Low-Off is how ALL fan pull chains operate.

easy install inside fan canopy. the lighting function pulsed the fan lights when installed. the problem turned out to be a voltage limiter wired inside the fan light attachment. i cut the wattage limiter out and spliced the wires directly so the remote worked correctly and the lights were not pulsating.so if your fan has a wattage limiter, remove it, connect the wires directly and the remote will turn the lights on and off. the lights will not flicker if you do this.

After an hour or so I chose the 2 hr function to be sure it worked. 2 hours later I noticed the fan slowing down so I hit the low button. It was till running very slow, so I hit the medium button. It sped up a bit but still not what low was earlier. After several minutes and still running slowly I hit the hi button. Immediately heard a bang and smelled a fire or at least something burning up. I saw no flames but will wait for it to cool before removing it. Don't think I'll but thin one again even though other seem to like it a lot.****A few days later, update. Changed to 1 star! Bought another one from different company and it did not work at all. Sent it back. But here is the kicker...my fan is broken. The first 3 speeds do nothing, as was the case before the this one burnt up. Now my fan works only on the 4th speed which I never use because to much to fast. So I'm back here to get a new fan since trying to get reimbursed would be futile. (luckily, I guess, the fan is old)Update: The company contacted me trying to make it right. They have offered to compensate me for the loss of my fan. So I went to 4 stars for their efforts. I will update further when I receive it.

I have a true flush mount fan... so that easy install "drop the housing" thing didn't work for me - I had to mostly disassemble my fan just to get the housing off. But really, my only real complaint is that the wires of the unit are so short I had to splice in more wire to get them to reach the wires of my fan. Fortunately I had the right gauge of wire and more wire nuts in my stash so I didn't have to make a trip to the hardware store. What I really liked was that the thing actually works and I love the timer feature! And while I was up there anyway, I was able to get the fan wobble corrected and really clean up the whole unit - so it is like having a brand new upscale fan.

Worked great first try. Wires are color coded to match the fan’s wires (installed on a Hunter fan but wiring is pretty much universal with maybe an exception for the ground wire) so installation was as simple as it could be. I’ve installed 3 of these now and the smaller size of this unit made mounting the fan back on its bracket so much easier. If you’re afraid of electricity hire someone to do it for you. If you’re familiar with changing out light fixtures in your house installing this is a breeze. (Pun intended)

Installed on my new fan in my bedroom and the remote kit works great. I was glad I found this item. Sure it doesn't dim the lights but I don't have a dimmable bulb anyways so that is ok with me. The timer function is good. I used it and set it up after I finished painting my room and sure enough after that set time was finished the fan was off. I love this remote and would buy again. Much cheaper than home depot.
