This series of spelling books is awesome- I love how they build up skills from one week to the next, and have the lists and dictation sentences for each week listed in the beginning. I used it for my oldest from 2nd to now 5th grade and I started my youngest 1st grade on it now too. Super great product on its own or in addition to another program. (We use The Good and the Beautiful for curriculum but I love these books for extra practice everyday!)

We homeschool and I don’t feel like there is a great spelling curriculum- this spelling is sooo good! They have fun puzzles for kids to do with the words for the week etc. we will most definitely be using this for future years as well!

I am happy with the structure and content of this workbook and many of the other grade level books by this publisher; I used them in first and second grade with my son and plan to do the same with my daughter.I piece together my curriculum from lots of different sources, using this publisher as my primary source for geography, math, spelling and language. I will agree that there is some "busy work" that does not really help develop spelling skills, so we often skip those sections. I would also like a quarterly review/quiz activity to help reinforce things.

Easy to navigate and my girls really enjoyed it

A teacher friend told me about Evan-Moor workbooks and how great they are for teaching. I wanted a good spelling curriculum to use and have tried others but spent too much time printing or coming up with my own worksheets.. I love how there is a lesson for each day of the week. It gives you all the resources you need to keep track as well as the test sheet. My son enjoys these spelling lessons a lot more.I went ahead and bought the 2nd grade spelling workbook as well.I have other Evan-Moor workbooks and they all are really great as well.

As a homeschooling mom, teaching multiple grades, this book is perfect! I have purchased 3 other spelling books in the past, all of which had layouts that I really didn't care for and my children found unclear and boring. I always wound up making my own worksheets. I was a little nervous buying this one, and worried that it would be another dud, but in fact, it is wonderful. It has a very clear design that breaks down the lessons very well. It gives the kids wonderful practice that they enjoy. I couldn't be happier that I have finally found a great spelling book series for my kids. And it has saved me a ton of time!

This book is such a great tool to use for teaching littles how to spell! Each week has a manageable number of new words along with some activities to practice spelling them out. You will likely need to pair more activities along with them but overall it’s a great book!

Highly recommend, but it’s a little bit difficult for my child, it needs more exercise to remember all the words per lesson.
