Compact, well-made, enjoyable
The main wood unit is about the size of the old iPod mini but obviously thicker while the blocks are about twice the size of a die, so not like the common alphabet blocks you’d see toddlers building with. I like the colors a lot and everything fits nicely as intended. The cards have a descent variety of words for the user to sound out, although I wouldn’t classify many of these as “sight words” or “high frequency” but I think they do help with building confidence sounding things out. I like how when you prop the card in the slot, it hides the word- surprisingly not all of the competition incorporates this feature. I do wish kids toys and games that utilize cards, especially smaller cards would include something to secure the cards- like a mini drawstring bag to go inside the main bag with the rest of the goods- a small inclusion but with so much utility. All said- I’m glad I chose this one and my 4 year old is making good use of it.

One of the best purchases
It’s been more than 2 years we bought this. Still feeling that it’s a good quality.

Great educational toy for pre-K or K
This is a simple toy consisting of flashcards with a picture and the matching noun, whose letters are to be discovered on various dice with one letter on each of 6 faces. Perfect for young kids to learn the alphabet in a self-paced way.The toy is made of natural wood with a pleasant finish that looks washable with a moist cloth, though not to be submerged in water.

Fun and educational!
The kids like searching for the matching letters and spelling the words! A great idea.

Recommended by Preschool Teacher
My daughter’s preschool teacher recommended this for us as a pre-reading activity for her.My daughter enjoys this activity, and the product is well made.I am docking a star just because with all of the little pieces, I think it could have come with a more durable packaging to hold everything. (I can’t stand little pieces!) I’ve seen other models with dice that are attached to a rod and they spin—I thought the dice being loose would make it easier, but it’s also easier to lose them all!

Nice!
I purchased this for my four year old grandson who is in for pre-K. He loves learning and at this stage of life it’s fun like a game. This gift is perfect where he is still learning but thinks he’s playing a game. Very nice quality would definitely buy.

Fun for Pre-K kids and toddlers too
I bought this set for our 5 year old starting kindergarten this fall. He loves it and asks to play with it almost daily. He's very much a hands on learner, so this keeps him engaged much better than a workbook. Our 2 yr old loves it too! She likes going through all the cards and saying the pictures in addition to stacking the little colorful blocks. Great addition to our little at-home summer school!

Not the greatest quality
The cards don’t slide into the slot deep enough for the letters to be completely covered. My kid found this distracting and I caught them trying to match up the top of the letters they could see rather than sounding the word out and trying to spell it. I fixed this by cutting a bit off of the bottom of each card. The other issue is, other reviews have mentioned, that there aren’t enough blocks. Often when the first few letters were figured out, they also included the last few letters needed and the remaining blocks didn’t have them.
