Working perfectly so far and easy to fit
Bought to use in a Swan DVR. Easy to install. Very quiet so far. Working perfectly. Competitive price at £49.99. would recommend.

Superior CCTV SATA Drive
This arrived in a very secure and well protected boxed package. The SATA drive was installed in the CCTV DVR and automatically started the format process. After several minutes I was able to access the DVR operating system and set the parameters for the storage drive.Impressed with the faster searching when playing back compared to other SATA drives I have used in the past. This is described as a Surveillance SATA drive especially for CCTV systems and therefore I fully recommend this rather than a normal cheaper standard SATA drive.

Good reliability HDD
Works well. Toshiba HDDs usually last longer; however, they can produce more noise. With Hikvision NVR and DVR, they have a feature built into the software that can monitor temperatures on Seagate HDDs. However, the operating system still reads the HDD temperature of all hard drives and can alert you if they overheat. This could be one reason people go for Seagate, but even after two years, it's still fine. If there was a fault, it would usually die within 12 months.

Does the job. A bit noisy
Use this with a Reolink NVR and 6TB is enough for about 30 days with 4 x 4k cameras. IThe Toshiba HDD is a bit cheaper than the equivalent WD Purple or Seagate HDDs. Not actually a problem but I don't like mechanical noise because it means more wear.On this particular NVR after formatting there is 5508GB available storage.Cost wise: the 4TB HDD works out a bit cheaper per terrabyte than the 6TB HDD.

Hard drive
Easily installed, good storage at 6TB for what I needed, no issue with read/write speed. Ive used Toshiba before and very reliable, quiet and good value for money compared to other surveillance hard drives at this capacity.

Works OK for 6 months in NVR
Using it as storage for NVR - works alright, no noticeable noise, no issues.

Terrible
Seemed ok to begin with, but write throughput dropped drastically, to under 10kbps - crashing my setup. Read up and this seems to be an SMR drive, and these are meant to be vastly inferior to the normal CMR drives. Either that, or I just got a bad one. Either way, the time I've wasted on it - I won't be buying again - returned!

Good value Ironwolf alternative.
Has better specs than the equivalent Seagate Ironwolf for a fraction of the price. Slightly noisier than my outgoing 3TB but quite a bit faster. Given the 1 million hour MTBF figures I may never have to replace this HDD ever again, nor my children nor grandchildren. Excellent value. Install and forget storage solution. Quality.
