It fits the heating pad that it's made to fit. I couldn't really ask for more.I use these heating pads in some feral cat houses outside my house. They've kept a handful of stray or feral cats warm through the past 2 Michigan winters.Would the cats probably have survived with just the heating pads with no covers? Sure. But the heating pads are hard plastic, I feel like these pads make them just a little more comfy. They're so inexpensive that it seemed silly not to help the cats be more comfortable.No one can really see them when they're on the heating pads inside the cat houses, but they do look nice, like the quality is solid.Feral cats haven't destroyed them, so I have to believe they're pretty durable too.

This was the perfect size for the old pet carrier I placed it in for the old stray cat that hangs around here. She loves the heat from it and now stays off the asphalt in front of the house where she was seeking heat. I placed this on my porch and she found it the first day. *I travel way too much to make her a house cat to keep her warm.*

I bought this for my elderly cat and she loves it. I made her a little hit and placed this in it and she laid on it constantly. She has since passed and now I will use it for my feral cats.

$8 seems like a lot for this. I mean it works fine but the fabric feels like the quality isn't great. I expected something a little better. Maybe the fire resistant properties add to it's price?

This was the best mat after a lot of searching- low energy use, sturdy, safe. Gives our outside “community cat” a nice place to lay even when it’s cold outside in IL winters.
