Pumps fast!

I bought this as a transfer pump to go from one tank to another. It is louder then expected when running. Besides that it can really move the water in a short amount of time. When I need it, I connect it to a hose from a rain collection tank and pump the water up an incline of over 150 feet away to another storage tank by the garden. I have moved over 200 gallons of water in less then an hour run time. A lot faster than my old pump. It is very portable and is about the size of your hand. Well worth the money, I did buy a warranty for it as well, just in case something breaks on it.

Worked great on our dry-camping trip.

No need to try to hold up a 6-7 gallon water jug to refill your RV when you could just use this. It pumps about 4 gallons per minute and after emptying everyone’s water jugs into their RVs (42 gallons total) there was plenty of battery life left. I took one reviewer’s advice and permanently removed the screws from the orange battery cover, which makes the battery much easier to remove for charging. My advice, follow the instructions. Put a tiny bit of cooking oil in the inlet before the first use (I used half a tsp) and pour a couple ounces of water into the inlet hose to prime it. Also, let it cool down after each 6-gallon jug.

Decent pump

Bought this pump for the occasional need around the house that may warrant emptying water from various places. One use case was in the rare instance where our air conditioner condensation drain would clog up resulting in water sitting in the drain pan, causing the unit to stop cooling. We have a unit that lives in the attic so going up there with a shop vac, and then coming down to empty the vac multiple times was no fun. My plan was to use this pump with a garden hose connected, and have the water pumped to a sink.My first actual use of this pump was not this scenario however. My wife bought a small vinyl kiddie pool (6' diameter, 250 gallon capacity). We filled it, and there it sat for 2 weeks, collecting leaves, pollen, bugs and other wonderful stuff. After looking at the science experiment one day, I was given the green light to drain the pool. I pulled out this pump, followed the instructions (add vegetable oil to lubricate the pump, etc.), connected the hoses and let it go.This sucker is pretty noisy but I was not too bothered by it. The pump is rated at UP TO 330 gallons per hour. The real world test showed much lower numbers though. It took roughly 2 hours to get to the bottom of the pool. The pool was pretty much filled to capacity (again, 250 gallons based on the specs of the pool). This means the actual real world throughput of this use was roughly 125 GPH. This was a little disappointing , hence the 4 star review. I feel like if this came in at 200-300 GPH, I wouldn't really ding the score too much. But since it came in well under half of the advertised max rate, I was somewhat underwhelmed. Again, I totally get the fact that this is "MAX GPH" rating. But what abnormal scenarios would actually result in achieving that full throughput? Or would a better spec be to provide a "minimum expected GPH"?While this guy is a handy item to have for some smaller jobs (like my main use case of the HVAC drain pan clean out), I feel that perhaps a 1/4HP submersible pump with a garden hose attachment (roughly the same cost...maybe a tad more) is a better option.

The little pump that could

I got this pump to water a garden out of our pond, initially with buckets which we carried to a garden ~50 feet away, slightly uphill from the water source. We started with a 15ft hose and was impressed with the flow, it was basically as powerful as the spigot on our house. We just upgraded to a 50ft hose to fill up storage barrels so we wouldnt have to carry buckets anymore. I was worried it wouldnt push water that far or uphill, but it did! Rather well, at that. We then added a 15ft hose section and a hose reel and it was still working like a champ. We filled a 55 gallon barrel with 1/3rd of its battery life. My time estimate would be about 20 minutes or so. I hope its longetivity lives up to this review. So far it has been the perfect solution to our watering issue, since there is no other water source near by.

worthless

So, a little background. I own some land and there is no water on property. I have two 250 gallon totes. I have one setup for wildlife to drink water. I basically have a large tub with a float that I run a hose from the tote to the tub. So, I use the other tote to go to the community well and get water. I then come back to the first tote, and transfer the water over. I bought this pump because this type of non-submersible pump was recommended as better than my submersible pump. I used it twice with no problems. It just sits in my truck chest box along with my hoses. Well, I can only get out to the property every 3 weeks or so. The wildlife tote was empty. No problem, I went and got some water, set the pump to begin transfer and nothing. The fan in the back is not turning on and the pump is hot. I had it plugged in correctly. there is an arrow that points direction of water flow. I'm out about 60 bucks. It worked TWO times. And this sucker was not cheap. Back to my trusty 15 year old submersible. .

So Far Works Great

I installed this little pump in a trailer we tow behind our ATV. We have a 50 gallon tank on that trailer, and we use this pump to fill it with river water from the canals around our property so we can water our garden. It takes 10 minutes to fill the 50 gallon tank. The pump has worked flawlessly for the past month that we have owned it and we use it twice a week. I like that it came with a spare impeller.Update:We both fill and empty a 50 gallon container about four times a week, so our pump and impellers get a workout. The only problem was that about nine months in, the rubber on the impeller separated from the brass key. We replaced the impeller and were back in business. This is an impressive little pump.
