Midnight Blue Pond Dye Packets - 6 Water Soluble Packs of Lake Dye Treatment

Normally I use 1 or 2 bags of Airmax Nature's Pond blue and/or black dye, but thought I would try this. I have a small pond only about a 1/4 acre. For starters, the little bags that contain the actual dye are all busted! There is no damage to the outer bag so it has to be an issue with the bags that the dye was in. I requested a refund or replacement. I was sent a shipping label for me to box the dust up & to take it to a UPS drop off which is a good 30 minute drive from me. Decided to just try to use it rather than go thru the return hassle. I put what I thought was about 2 bags worth. Could see the blue/black steaks where I poured the powder but the next day, nothing, no color change at all. So I put more, waited a couple hours... nothing! I ended up putting the rest in & that did give the pond a bit of color change. Not what you would expect with 6 bags of dye for sure! A messy mess!

Seems like about a third of the folks who try this stuff experience no change in color. I'm one of that 30%. I have 6 foot/acres of water (1.5 acres at avg 4 ft.). Threw in 6 packs. Waited one day, nothing. Waited 2 days, still absolutely nothing. I would have been better off throwing in sixty bucks of pennies. At least the copper might have conked some algae. What a waste.I hate it when Amazon stuff doesn't work out. Now I'm out sixty bucks, have to schlep to the feed store for a couple gallons of tried and true liquid and have to pack up the other six pack and get it to a UPS place. It's hard out here in the country.

Awesome product and so much easier! Why didn't I do this before. Dropped them in the 1/2 acre pond and by morning the entire thing was midnight blue! Arrived quickly, with instructions, a printout of my pond telling me how large it was and other recommended products. Great Service!

Ease of use

These packets worked great in my pond. This is much better than the liquid dye. No blue hands!! Will definitely buy this product again.

The dye worked well in our pond and has cut down on algae as advertised. However, please be sure to wear gloves.

My pond is small and I was having a bigger algae problem this year. After treating the pond I decided to use the dye to keep the problem to a minimum. Within minutes the water was a beautiful deep blue. It is really pretty, keeps sunlight to a minimum has greatly slowed down the algae issue.

Not real satisfied with the darkness of this dye. It is a dye product for sure. I had to use more than stated to archive the color expected.
