I was constantly getting these irritating pimple like bumps on the back of my scalp. I didn’t understand why, I wash my hair everyday in the mornings before work, and at night before going to sleep. I’m a heavy sweater with oily skin. I tried multiple shampoos, sometimes spending $50 plus on bottles to see if they would rid of the bumps, nothing seemed to work and this went on for a couple of years. When I would get haircuts, I would have to remind my barber about the bumps so he wouldn’t shave too close or else the bumps would bleed, this happened a few times and got me to the point I would be apprehensive about getting a haircut. When I did get a haircut, the bumps were very noticeable causing me to be self conscious about my issue, a couple of my friends even noticed and mentioned the bump (so embarrasing!) I’m not sure why I even tried this shampoo, but luckily I did. This Neutrogena shampoo was the cure. I first purchased this product back on August in 2024, within 4-6 weeks of using this shampoo daily, my bumps and irritations are no longer! Thank you Neutrogena!!!! It’s now June of 2025 and it’s the only shampoo I will ever use. It’s a small bottle at 4.5 ounces, but it last me about a month, because you don’t have to apply a lot, and again I wash my hair twice a day. I would pay 4 times the amount if I had to, because this truly solved my issue. My hair feels clean after washing it, doesn’t leave any weird odors and it works. This $7.50 bottle of shampoo has been a god send to me. Definitely try it if you have a similar issue. Give it time to work, nothing works instantly, took me 4-6 weeks to get my results.

Product has barely any smell. Instantly lifted my psoriasis build up. Affected area was red for about an hour and then calmed down nicely. Lots of build up falling off for the rest of the day with no trauma. Pretty miraculous.NOTE: people reviewing that it smells like asphalt are confusing T/Gel with this product. T/Gel is a coal tar based product, is black in color, and has a very strong smell. This product is a salycylic acid product, clear, and has barely any smell. Any conditioner will replace the smell, and I am very scent sensitive.

I don't really find this to be all that therapeutic to my scalp at all. But I have to say, I actually love the scent (I noticed others say they disliked it). I mean, I actually love it! Plus it lathers up like nothing I've ever seen before. Now, does that mean it's full of chemicals? I have no idea...I still haven't read the ingredients list. Will I purchase it again? Hmm, not sure. I had purchased two bottles. The price was reasonable considering they were shipped to me, although the bottle size is quite small. But you don't need much at each wash. Anyway, I probably won't purchase again just because of the price and because I simply don't feel it refreshed my scalp at all. (I put it on as soon as I get in the shower, and leave it on as I wash the rest of me so that it can stay on my scalp for several minutes, yet it doesn't seem to matter). Nevertheless, I still like it. But won't buy again due to $.

I bought this for my persistent dandruff and ai use it as my second shampoo to help with how oily my hair gets now that I am in perimenopause. It cleared up the dandruff and stopped the itching. I also noticed that I can go longer between washes and I do not have to wash it twice anymore. I recommended this to my husband who has scalp psoriasis and this cleared up his redness and flaking. His scalp also appears more moisturized than it was before. All of our hair/scalp problems are solved. I spent way less on this than other products, so it was money well spent.

So one of the joys of aging that no one tells you about is that you get super oily during menopause. The acne is way worse than I remember having as a teenager. My scalp has pimples now because of my oily skin. Yep, you read that correctly. It's super gross. I feel like I've been coated with Crisco sometimes.I bought this to degrease my head. It has helped with my newly acquired scalp pimples and also the fun acne outbreak that I keep getting on the hairline on the back of my neck.Definitely recommend for the greasy, hot flashy women out there.
