Perfect artist pen
Being enjoyed by my artist grandson. He says there's so many types of strokes to this style pen so he's using these with great enjoyment creating art.

Fast Shipping and great pen!
I love this pen! I received it in the mail brand new and still in the original box a week early which is awesome because now I can start using it when Inktober starts and not during. It is a refillable pen which is awesome, it came with an extra ink cartridge (as shown in the picture) and it works very well~! It was recommended by Jake Parker, creator of Inktober, and he says, "My work horse. It has a nylon brush tip, and offers a smooth and powerful line but can also give you fun expressive lines too. I've been drawing with this pen for years and it holds up to a beating, yet will still give you a fine delicate line if you need it. I highly recommend it." The only problem you could probably have with the pen is setting it up if you can't read Japanese.. But the picture on the back of the packaging shows you a picture of how to set it up and the ink cartridge has an arrow on it to tell you which way it is supposed to face the inside of the pen. Basically you unscrew the bottom part of the pen, insert the ink cartridge with the arrow facing the tip of the pen, and then screw the bottom part of the pen back on.

Amazing!
Every artist should own a Pentel Pocket Brush Pen. These guys are going to become your workhorse of your inkwork. They are smooth, well priced, and long-lasting. I've had mine for two years, and it has held up. I just buy refill cartridges, or more recently, use a syringe to refill an empty cartridge with brown ink (my preferred lining color). These brushes give you a wide variety of line weights coupled with a brush tip that can hold up to abuse. The brush fibers are synthetic, so they don't fray (at least they haven't yet for me.)If you're an artist, no matter the age or talent you perceive yourself to have, consider purchasing one of these pens. They will be your new go to ink pen.

Great Brush Pen
I bought the pen to practice Kanji. The pen is very nice for the price. After the included ink were used up I saved the cartridges and syringe filled them with fountain pen ink. I've been using it like this ever since with no problem with the fountain ink. In my experience, the cartridges fit snug upon reuse and don't need additional lube to use with this technique. The springiness of the brush is very low. You can flatten it out completely; to reform you need to roll it back into shape. (Hold the pen and brush it on the side of bristles in a circular motion to reform.) Because of the lack of springiness, there is a learning cure to get the best results form the pressure used with the pen.Happy writing

Very fun to write with
Very fun to write with. I will say, if you are trying to do calligraphy this is too thick. I am using it to learn brush strokes and shapes, but I have to write very large (1'' letters minimum) or else it bleeds together. Perfect for a larger written project or for drawing bold lines.

The brush nib is the best!
A lot of pens have brush nibs that are made up of solid material but this one is made up of actual, individual hairs - it truly mimics a quality watercolor brush. The effects are that my strokes are perfect every time! I especially like to use it for drawing eyelashes!

Great portable brush pen with durable nylon bristles for varying strokes.
I saw a review from an artist who uses one of these brush pens and decided to pick one up for use during Inktober. I loved the idea of having one I could just toss into my bag with a sketchbook or Traveler's Notebook insert. It was easy to fill with one of the two enclosed cartridges of India ink. The enclosed ink is good, but I don't care for disposable cartridges (too much waste) and want to use my own ink of choice. When the included ink runs out, I will refill the cartridge myself with Dr. Ph. Martin's Black Star India Ink - my favorite of India ink (easy to do with a syringe and blunt-tip needle made for this purpose). If the bristles hold up as long as everyone says, I will be using this pen for a long time to come. Great buy!
