Still good in 2025?

The Ryzen 7 5800XT is holding up well with the RX 7900XT GPU I paired it with, getting well over 100 FPS in 1440p and over 60 FPS in 4K on every game I have Tried (including Doom the Dark Ages at ultra graphic settings). With no CPU bottleneck, GPU is reaching 100% usage. Was worried about temperatures, this CPU has gotten to 82 celsius though normally stays in the low 70 degree range during heavy loads, that is with the Wraith Prism stock cooler included in the box.Overall very happy with this processor in my "budget friendly" PC build.

Great performer

Mine works fine I guess. I tried PBO curve optimizer through Ryzen Master and could get all core -25. But computer would reboot when at a low power state, would perform fine at full loads reboot no warning at lower power states. Troubleshooting I found the 4th physical core was unstable at any undervolt so I set 7 cores at -25 and 1 core at 0. No more rebooting but I discovered I didn't get the performance boost or lower temps that you would expect to get. So I tested at my undervolt setting and then reset it to stock settings, I got slightly lower temps and better performance. Exact opposite what you should get. So I'm running it at stock settings which my max speed according to specs is 4800Mhz but I get boosts on problem core at just over 4900Mhz 3 of the other cores I get between 4943 and 4950 and 4 of the cores boost over 5000Mhz. So I'm happy with it. I uploaded photo of HWMonitor showing core speeds.Update: This cpu keeps surprising me. I'm not over-clocking I just have PBO enabled but look at these speeds from this chip, 5800+ Mhz on 4 cores. I'm uploading another screenshot of hardware monitor. I keep HW active all the time to monitor my speeds and temps plus keep track of AIO pump.

5800XT does what I needed it to do.

Gigabite X470 board died and had to upgrade to a B550. Didn't need anything crazy because I primarily use my PC for weak programs and some light gaming. After getting the board, I couldn't overclock the memory which used on the X470. The memory would only run at 1800mhz being 3466mhz. Then a bought compatible 3600 memory and then it wouldn't OC to spec and only ran at 2400. After doing more research, I found the 2700x chip wasn't really compatible with the B550 board I upgraded to.I did MORE research and then found this 5800xt gem for a good price and installed it. NOW everything runs to spec.

Good CPU for gaming

Good power consumption, very reliable, improve my FPS since i got a Ryzen 3 3200g with an RX 6600xt now i game much better than before, texture loading is faster since i no longer have bottle neck, i still need to buy a better CPU air cooling & other thermal paste since temperatures aren't that great idle, heat is 90C while gaming

Good AM4 upgrade. Pain to install the cooler. RGB on by default.

The price was right, so I upgraded from a ryzen 2600 for roughly 50-80% more CPU power in CPU limited loads. It won't help if you are limited by your GPU in a game, but there are plenty of times when a faster processor will help, particularly for video production, multitasking, etc.Note that if you are upgrading, you will probably need to flash your bios with a USB drive. This was very easy to do on my computer, but you do need to flash it *before* you install the new processor.Because the included cooler attaches to the clip-style brackets on an AM4 motherboard, I had to dig out my old brackets and reattach them to the motherboard. Thankfully I still had them in the closet. These brackets specifically had to be removed for the previous cooler that came with the Ryzen 2600. Even after I got the brackets reattached, the hooks are quite hard to attach, especially if you haven't removed your motherboard from the case to do the processor swap. I found it was easier to start with the hook with the latch, then make sure to center up the cooler on the top of the processor. You have to get it squared up just right so that the opposite side hook has enough room to clip on. Then just turn the latch and plug it into the motherboard. Also the cooler comes with RGB activated by default, which is silly. There are additional cords you can run to your motherboard, and then you have to download software to control the RGB. You can't turn off the RGB without the software because it is on by default. Please AMD, just make the RGB off by default and let us turn it on with the software.

Pruebas

Bang for the buck.

A great overclocking CPU. It's very fast. I have AMD Precision Boost Overdrive set to 5.1GHZ. CPU hits that mark no problem. It's also a good gaming CPU as well. Good memory controller too. I have a RAM kit rated at 3200mhz, overclocked to 3733mhz thanks to the good memory controller. Highly recommend.
