Solid, Reliable, Easy to Use...Great Domestic Kitchen Scales
Purchased these to replace an ageing set of cheap glass scales. Arrived promptly and was surprised by how large and weighted they are, certainly feel like a quality piece of equipment. They have a large surface area to accomodate most sized bowls, a nice bright display and have the added bonus of being able to extend the display out away from the scale when large containers are being weighed. Really good quality and very well calibrated, I'd say they are probably as good as domestic scales you can buy before getting into professional bakers scales. Well worth the purchase, slightly pricier than the average kitchen scale but justified so.

Typical OXO Good Grips high quality!
Every OXO Good Grips product I've bought has been high quality, and so are these scales. They are robust, they perform the task well, and they also look good. The best thing about them is that to operate them you just need to touch the glass surface, rather than push down on a button, so, unlike many scales by other manufacturers, there's no chance of food particles falling down the sides of the button and eventually causing the unit to fail.

Best scales I've ever owned
At last! The perfect scales! Worth every penny. Clear, large display, simple to use, don't have any bad habits like resetting themselves to zero all the time. Best of all - you can pull the display unit out so it's not hidden by the bowl - genius. I have had so many sets of scales and they're usually so badly designed you wonder if anyone tested them. The last but one set I had included a permanent clock display which you couldn't turn off and which drained the battery, and the last one had a 'tare' function that reset them to zero whenever your hand came within 6 inches - as well as having a display that was invisible once a bowl was on the scale. I've always found Oxo Good Grips to be reliable and this is a well designed product that looks nice, too. I just wish I could get back all the money from the £20 sets of scales I've bought in Sainsbury's, Argos and so on.

Expensive but good
How much for some kitchen scales?!! I persuaded myself to buy these based on positive reviews and generally good experiences with the OXO range. They are very good. Accurate, responsive, large enough top plate, they are everything my old cheaper electronic scales were not. I bake quite a lot of bread, and they're great for those purposes, and also weighing individual food stuffs and liquids. They are expensive, but this is a good set of scales. If you can afford to treat yourself, is recommend these.

Easy to read and accurate
I've found that the scale works well and is easy to read with only two buttons the scale is very simple to understand. The digital display is clear and being able to pull it out when measuring using large bowls is a great feature that I find myself using quite often. I personally wouldn't purchase it at the full price as it is quite expensive but I managed to get it on sale for significantly less.

Good scales
scales seem good but when they arrived I put the batteries supplied in and they were warning they were flat so will need to buy a new set straight away.

Great piece of Industrial Design.
The old adage "you get what you pay for" most certainly applies here. Our several old £10-ish kitchen scales with stainless steel bowl or not, were/are quite bluntly (and accurately) complete sh*te. The latest: constant fluctuations whilst the same untouched item was sitting on it; two identical cat bowls had a three gram difference in weight (now they're spot-on the same), would on/off and beep on its own, and clear the screen mid-measure, etc. Not good when you need accuracy! Please pay for something that never fluctuates, is bang on in a micro/millisecond (re: instantly) and beautiful to look at. Especially if you love to cook! It's a dream to use, and the slide-out display is such a clever addition when you have a large bowl to weigh in ingredients. I used to hate having to stoop down and shield my eyes and the light in a way that was conducive to seeing the display proper. There really isn't a good way, per se, but this takes all the annoyance right out of the whole deal and makes us wonder: how the eff did we ever cope without it?!? Take it from a pair whom use a kitchen scale a minimum of six times per day (cats on special diets) up to dozens (we love to cook/bake). It's a dream. Straight up. It's a beaut that simply wipes clean. Even has an on-screen gauge to show if you're getting too close to the 5kg. weight limit. Loverly. 😊
