These bags are strong and made trips to the tip a easier process, I also used one for a trip to the launderette

If you only put dry leaves in them they'd be fine. If you try to use them for helping clear shrubs and sharp sticks, they get punctured quickly and then quickly tear. False economy if you want something for general gardening.

Giovara 272l garden waste bags seem to be well made, with well finished hems and seams. The plastic strip you feed into the top hem, pyjama cord style, works quite well - but when I get round to the next one I'll take a few minutes to round off the corners for easier feeding.I chose them for the size. they are wide enough to make it easy to gather up long hedge trimmings to go to the shredder, and tall enough to hold rather more than I want to pick up in one go - so you just have to use a little common sense here! Much easier to work with than the black bin bags I have been using (and reusing) which soon get ripped by this sort of contents.

Would of been 5* but annoying to fold up to keep the rain out, then it distorted the shape

These bags firstly aren't really like the first couple of photos - there's nothing to hold them upright until you fill them. Initially I was quite happy as they were useful for a couple of jobs of carrying lots of green waste to the tip after working on the garden. They've been stored outside over the last year and I didn't expect any particular problems when I came to use them again, but now the material is fraying, tearing and splitting when you pick them up, so they can't carry anywhere near their capacity anymore. I guess they'll be in the bin before too long. If you translate a couple of the international reviews they also mention the same deterioration over time. Maybe if I'd kept them indoors they would be in better condition but I've got other green waste bags that have held up much better and I still would have expected these to be more robust.

with the size. Just what I wanted. I use a council green waste removal (at a cost) but often I have too much stuff to put in the wheelie bin, and the council will not take more than a binful at a time whilst I like to cut everything down that I can while I have the time and the motivation. I have 'parked' one of these bags near to my gate and fill it with the overflow. When the wheelie bin has been emptied, I then transfer bagged stuff to the wheelie bin. A bit of work yes but saves a 36 mile round trip to the council tip. Also, in the past I have left stuff uncut because of inclement weather and thus end up paying the council for NOT collecting as the wheelie bin is empty. This way I can make sure that I get my money's worth from the extra Council Tax we have to pay for the Green Service in my region.

These bags where much better than I expected. Very tough, strong and stand by themselves when empty. I used mine to store logs and expected the handles to break when I tried to move the bags, which were heavy, but they were totally up for the job!There are two eyelets at the top of the bag to allow you to thread a flexible strengthening bar to hold the bag open (which comes with the bags), but the bags are so strong that I didn't find the need to use this, instead, I threaded through some old washing line (like a draw string) so I could close the bags. One other very important factor, is that there is no leakage of dust or moisture through the bags, so no more mess in my car after a trip to the dump.I can think of so many uses for these bags - one success story is, I've stored my sons huge collection of football boots and trainers and with the use of the draw string, the smell is contained!! I was so pleased with the size and strength and quality, that I've just ordered some more bags. P.s. I have never awarded 5 stars before, but these deserve it.
