Good threads and holds up to the weather
I used these to replace some failing fasteners holding the mirrors on my service truck. Installed cleanly, threads seem good, they are holding tight in the sheet metal panel and have not rusted after a few months in the weather. That's not the most strenuous test, but so far so good. Used a few on other miscellaneous projects too. The case is nice to keep things organized and will actually stay latched shut. You probably have experienced cheap little cases of fasteners that pop open at the worst times; sometimes the smallest things can be the biggest headaches. These rivnuts have been a good value and I would definitely buy them again.

Nice
Just got a rivnut tool and installed a sunvisor on a classic truck. Far superior to just using screws that just strip out. The same truck had some nuts in the door for mirrors and it got me curious how they did that, so I googled and found them.Figured I'd get these stainless ones, since they popped up while looking for the tool and seem reasonably priced. A pack of 30 stainless for under 10 bucks? Why not. These wont ever rust. Considering they are on top of the truck where water might set, figured would be a good idea.Anyway, they installed easy and I used stainless 1/4-20 bolts with some lock tight and I don't have to worry about wind every blower the visor off. If I tried to rip it off, it would take massive force and just break. These rivnuts wont be going anywhere. I know I can trust these to hold.Love having these on hand! I'll be adding them to my other truck and replacing the sheet metal screws holding on the mirrors and the visor also. Handy, handy, handy and these stainless wont be rusting and will outlast the trucks for sure.

Nice Stainless Steel Rivnuts & If you don't have the special install tool
Only used 5 so far, one to test if my tool could handle stainless steel. Then used 4 Rivnuts to mount a towel rack on an aluminum wall. Worked well.I think my Rivnut tool is only rated for 8/32, maybe 10/32 Steel Rivnuts. Larger Aluminum Rivnuts, no problem. It takes a heavy duty tool to put in steel or stainless steel Rivnuts. If you don't have a toolI have used a grade 5 bolt, a few washers to allow things to slip, a "regular nut with the threads drilled out" and a long nut.Setup --- Note --- A threaded rod works too, with a double nut tightened together in place of a bolt1. Place the “threaded long nut” on the bolt first.2. Then a couple washes3. Then the “nut with the threads drilled out”4. Then a nice tight fitting washer5. Then the Rivnut. How to install Rivnut --- Try a test run for good luckI forgot to tell you this is where you may need your third hand to keep the Rivnut from turning.1. First wrench -- Holds the bolt from turning2. Second wrench -- Turn the “Threaded long nut”3. Third wrench -- Now using your third handHold the “nut with the threads drilled out from turning and spinning the Rivnut as you tighten the system.

Works exactly as advertised
Needed a way to attach some access panels to a metal structure. Makes removing and installation a breeze.
