I've been using this connected to an Arduino Uno to act as the volume, tuning, and scanning control for an FM radio. This was part of a learning project, so I did have to do some searching to find the correct way to interface with the Arduino, but after that it has worked great.

For how stiff the switch itself is, the button on it is woefully undersized. As an engineer, UI is the biggest difficulty. This module will need a sturdy fixture in anything you incorporate it in to. And have spare buttons because this one definitely will break.Another drawback is that this simply breaks out all the directions as individual pins without the ability to have a resistor network feed a single analog input. This is just a suggestion: was not a factor in -1 star. My project has many left over GPIO that I would have used for this.I ended up designing and soldering up a board with three buttons for a project. I really only needed up/down/select.

Was a bit smaller than I realized, but continues to work perfectly for my application.
