Excellent reliable barcode and QR code scanner
The media could not be loaded. Really impressed with this. Firstly it feels well made, and setting up is a doddle. Initially I used the supplied USB cable (printer style at the scanner end, so does not fall out easily) - then moved to the Bluetooth dongle when at last I found it (in a tiny blue bag stapled to the scanner packaging, that I'd put in the bin). Charging if through the USB cable of course.Connecting to Bluetooth was just a matter of using the barcodes printed in the instructions. Don't lose those instructions, as contains the barcodes for lots of other settings, e.g. turning the beep on/off.It works as a USB keyboard - the computer knows no difference. So on my Linux computer, I simply opened up a text editor (see video) and the barcodes and QR codes appeared. What you do with them is entirely up to the software you are using - so presumably, to enter in a code, you'll first need to have the focus on wherever the code is to be entered - just like entering by hand on a keyboard. That also means it's perfect for producing your own barcodes, then entering them into e.g. a spreadsheet - say if you want to produce tickets for an event, and have per-seat codes. All very nice.Overall, a very useful and high quality item.

Love.
The media could not be loaded. We got this scanner in order to scan the ISBNs of our large personal library and bulk-load them into the LibraryThing software . It is a very well built piece of kit at an extremely affordable price tag. More importantly, since it's a "wedge" scanner, meaning that it's seen by a computer as a keyboard device, it really does work with any computer you have. Im running Mac and It was pretty much plug and play.It works great, has a long range, long charge life and easy to operate. This unit is perfect, most other places in the uk are selling these 2D scanners for $250 or more, this unit does the same thing for so much less. I needed to scan barcodes for Express bags as well which I found out have a lot of numbers at the start and end of the QR code, the tracking number was placed in the middle. In conclusion for an extremely affordable price tag you really cant go wrong!PROS:- Ergonomic. Very comfortable to hold.- Switchable vibration, audible tones for code scan confirmation.- Affordable!CONS:- Sometimes you have to get close to scan the barcode- No stand

Performed Very Well & Easy to Use
The media could not be loaded. This the 2nd ScanAvenger barcode scanners I have looked at today. This SA8800 series is the top of the range when it comes to their scanner. The materials used for sa8800 are slightly better than the ones used for sa9100. Also, the optimisation on the sa8800 is a bit better. What this means is that the 8800 series has slightly more optimised reading engine and battery performance – that is the techy stuff over and done with.It came very nicely packaged in a smart looking retail box and inside you get the Scanner itself, USB Bluetooth Dongle, USB-A to USB-B cables, QuickStart Guide, Troubleshooting Plastic Card, Scan Avenger Quick Codes, and Instructions.I went for connect it to my Samsung Galaxy Tab s7+ using Bluetooth and I had no issues in setting it up. I had put together a little Excel spreadsheet to see how it performed and it did a good job. One feature I liked was the fact that it did the "Return" part as well. So, the cursor was on the next cell down. It was quick at recognising the code, even from a distance.I am not an expert by any means when it comes to these types of things, but this is light, cable free, quick, and scanned codes with few errors. I really liked the fact that it could be connected to a tablet or mobile phone, if you are going to be out of the 150m range of a PC/Laptop. It also handles both 1D and 2D. I also phone the design/look of this one to be a bit more premium. You would not mind having this on your counter.Overall, I think this is an excellent piece of kit. Accurate, 3-0way connectivity and slightly stylish.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.NB. For a sizing guide, squares in photos are 1cm.
