I used these for holding candle wicks, I'm too uncoordinated to eat with them but they break apart evenly, and easily, and they're of decent quality for the price.Now some of them do have a weird shape. As in, there's a little tiny wood knot in a spot and it makes a bend in the wood or its just odd shaped. I think it would probably effect the ease of use. I took them all out of the package and paper to look at them and out of 40, 6 of them have imperfections like bends, or splinters and cracks and I personally wouldn't use those 6 for eating because I'd rather not have a sliver in or near my mouth.

I got these because, more often than not, the restaurant or delivery driver forgets to add chopsticks. I am proficient with chopsticks for almost all food.I bought these for the above reasons, and so I can keep In practice eating with chopsticks.

The chopsticks themselves are standard, cheap items and are what they are, but the wrapper is flimsy and may not be appropriate depending on the event. The photo shows wrappers with "Otemoto" written in Japanese (a neutral term, and if you don't read Japanese, it wouldn't mean anything anyway), but the actual product has "Good Luck" on the wrapper, which wouldn't be right for a funeral... But if you need them for a retirement party or Lunar New Year, go for it!
