Works Well Did Not Break My Glass of Sliding Patio Door
The media could not be loaded. Made pilot holes. Easy install. Took 15 minutes. Feels heavy duty but time will tell. There is another one that has higher reviews (in the thousands, I think) but this seller had three slot option for letting breeze in but still prevents patio glass door from sliding open. The main latch body is probably PVC but the slots are made from some metal. The screws seems adequate size but they do strip easy with power drill. They gave an extra screw for that reason, I assume.MINI UPDATE: A few weeks later, still satiesfied with the latch, works well and very convenient instead of having to continuously lower and raise the pivoting security bar I also installed last year. I only use that at night and during the day use the latch to let my dog out in the backyard or momentarily have some cool breeze refresh the house. Some advice I didn't give in my initial review:When installing, use pilot holes as a precatioun. Also have very bright flashlight to detect potentially fiercinf through your glass. I was careful with my pilot hole by drilling in slow-mode, deliberately stopping every few seconds to shine the flashlight inside the hole--for any shiny reflections. I was precatious and made sure to be away, not near, any edges/trims that could still be adjacent to where the glass panes began. Since I detected only vinyl and no glass reflections from my pilot holes, I held my breath and kept going. After setting the first two screws nearer the edge of the trim of my door (I opted for a top install, as you can see in the video), I was confident that I would be okay to finish installing the latch. Just be cautious, as many have reported in their reviews for these type of latch locks that the screws broke the glass on their sliding doors when they tried to DIY install it. The glass on these sliding patio doors are typically hard tempered glass so one tiny piercing fracture, the glass is going to crash in pieces on your floor!

Easy to use Door Locks
These Patio Sliding Door Locks are one of the best investments I've made. For years we used the bar locks or a stick shoved in the door track which were awkward and not to pretty to look at. Style of door and the time it took to install is why I only gave them a 4 for installation; it did take a little while to get them installed, but it was worth every minute. I would recommend these to anyone looking for that added security and for childproofing. They are very easy to use, so if you need to get out of the door quickly just push the button and open the door. Great product.

All secure!!
I was not sure with photos with the product until it arrived. My concern was how sturdy the plastic was. After I physically held in in my hand and worked the action button gave me confidence that this will hold up. The application was easy with the hardware included. I used it on a sliding glass door mounted at the bottom at the track. I was skeptical with the screws to clear the sliding door rails but it was no problem. Great product and time will tell for longevity.

Easy to install and works perfectly!
If you can mark and drill holes and operate a screwdriver, you can handle the installation. Our issue was a three-year-old who thinks it's fun to open the door and go outside. The standard door lock didn't even slow him down.I mounted this lock at the top of the sliding door. To engage the lock, just push up on it. To disengage the lock, just push a button and the lock springs open. This lock does the job perfectly!

Buy something else, brittle screws.
I liked the idea of this, especially for taking my dog on potty breaks. The screws included are incredibly brittle! I drilled the holes as instructed but there are multiple that snapped. One, that’s fine and acceptable but not most of them. I now have pointless holes in my sliding door and a few screws that couldn’t get removed that are not just filed down. There is a pamphlet saying to contact them for help/returns/replacements but I have no desire to put more holes in the sliding door. I also have little hope in a replacement considering they shop this out with brittle screws.

Only problem is the screws.
Really awesome item but like others stated the screws SUCK.... I kept stepping up on drill bits almost to no bite left on the screw to finally get them to not snap halfway. Never dealt with an issue like that, But it does its job well to lock or quickly open once you get past the screw issue.

Perfect
I purchased this after spending a lot of time researching the best lock for our sliding door to prevent our toddler from running outside whenever he pleases. It was simple to install and works just as intended. It's secure and installed on the top so it's out of reach for my kids. It's perfect.
