Enzymedica, Berberine, 800mg, 120 Count

I highly recommend this to anyone with a mad sweet tooth, or struggles with sugar cravings. I used to want sugar all the time! I take these every morning and it has literally changed my life!

After trying many different brands of Berberine without a doubt this one is my favorite! It not only works but has No Fillers & other that I’ve read to avoid. I’m supplementing with this 2x daily & have seen amazing results.

My wife is retired. She is blessed to be quite healthy. This is a big aid for supporting overall health.

I had previously bought this same brand Berberine at a lower mg and didn’t help my blood sugars so I ordered this 800 mg hoping it would be better at a higher dosage. But so far it has not made any difference.

This is a Great product

I thought I’d give these a try because I’ve been using Berberine for several months and because Enzymedica is a reputable brand that is Verifiably NSF Good Manufacturing Practices certified. That said, safety always comes first, so here’s a brief review of the Enzymedica company and my personal safety rating of their Transparency, Accountability and Quality.Transparency (high): The Enzymedica name as a trademark with activity that goes back to 2010, but appears to have “New Owner” activity in 2022. They have a robust web page which includes headings like “Meet our SAB (Scientific Advisory Board), and “Meet Our Team,” which includes identifying their CEO. According to a 2014 article in an online “Herald Tribune '' Enzymedica was “founded in 1998 by two brothers, Tom and David Bohager. Tom Bohager maintains an active role as its chairman and formulator-in-chief (in 2014)”. They have an Enzymedica UK branch. They also appear to be "socially responsible" (see their webpage). For this particular supplement that responsibility extends to making sure that their source of Berberine is sustainable (because another source used by some is currently threatened by non-sustainable harvesting).Accountability (high): Enzymedica claims that “Our facility at Enzymedica is Good Manufacturing Practices certified by NSF International, an independent, third party certification company”. Not only do they claim it, but I can verify it. Easily (which is so unusual and refreshing that it almost brings tears-of-joy to my eyes). Also a 25 year history speaks to a degree of accountability and quality.Quality: These capsules are somewhat large, but were easy for me to swallow. I don’t feel the need to taste the powder inside as I usually do, because I trust this company, and they’ve already told me it’s going to taste bitter inside (Berberine is very bitter). The scent of these capsules is mild and neutral. I appreciate is their honesty about the dose. Berberine is notoriously poorly absorbed. A serving size of this supplement is 800 mg in two capsules, and they recommend taking 1-2 capsules with meals 3 times a day (up to 2400 mg total). At the larger dose this is a 20 day supply. At 4 capsules a day, 1600 mg (a dose I’ve seen commonly), this would be a 30 day supply. These also contain Leucine, which is said to have some similar benefits as Berberine.In summary I’d say this is a good product by a good company.

I buy Enzymedica supplements because I trust them to be a good quality supplement. If I’m buying berberine and l-leucine I want that and very limited fillers and flow agents. I was looking for something to control my appetite and/or control cravings mid morning and mid afternoon and berberine and l-Leucine have potential benefits in this area.This supplement contains some rice concentrate and the capsule is a vegetarian capsule. It also contains calcium laurate (Made from the mineral calcium and lauric acid. Lauric acid is a medium-length fatty acid found in coconut milk and breast milk [it comprises about six percent of the fat content of breast milk]. Calcium laurate helps powders flow into capsules and holds those powders together.) Each serving contains 100 mg of Leucine an amino acid that may help improve muscle mass, decrease inflammation and help with blood sugar control.The suggested use is 1-2 capsules with meals three times a day. That means that with 120 capsules in the bottle taking two capsules with each meal the bottle will only last 20 days. I think 800 mg of Berberine (2400 mg per day) with each meal might just suffice, so a bottle will last 40 days.
