Chain weights improve opening, but slower sinking that with lead weights
The main distinguishing feature of this cast net is its use of chain weights instead of lead. Like any design, you compromise one factor in order to maximize another one. In this case, the chains make for a smoother and more uniform opening when cast (because there are no gaps between the weights) and they make casting a bit easier because they are lighter in weight than lead, but that lighter weight also means that the net doesn't sink as fast as one that uses conventional lead weights.Since my cast netting is done only in shallow water, the disadvantage disappears, leaving me only with the advantages of chain weights. If you intend to use a cast net in deep water, or if you are using a small-diameter net for fast-moving bait even in shallow water, you may want to consider a different net. However, if you're using at least an 8ft. net and using it in shallow water, this is an excellent choice. The fact that it's priced lower than the "premium" nets is also a big advantage. If you've never used a cast net, check Youtube for instructions. You will find several methods suggested, and they will also vary according to the net size. Practice in your backyard with several of the methods recommended for your net size, and then practice some more for consistency with the method you select. If you're like me, you will find that catching your own live bait is not only economically better than buying it, but also very satisfying in its own right.

Neat Idea and works well enough!
I recently picked up this cast net with a chain-weighted design, and I have to say, I’m really impressed with the unique approach. Instead of traditional lead weights, the chains provide a more even distribution, which helps with a smooth and consistent spread when thrown. It’s noticeably easier to throw compared to some of the heavier, lead-weighted nets I’ve used in the past. One of the best things about this net is how effortlessly it opens up, even for someone who isn’t a pro at throwing. The design makes it beginner-friendly, but it still works well for experienced anglers looking for a reliable net.For the price and size, this is a great value. It’s durable, functional, and doesn’t break the bank like some high-end models. The only downside is that it doesn’t sink as fast as a lead-weighted net, so it’s not ideal for deep water or chasing fast-moving bait. However, for shallow flats, it still gets the job done.Overall, if you’re fishing in shallower areas and want an easy-to-use, well-designed net at a great price, this is a solid choice!

Nice net!
Who doesn't need a 12-foot castable fishing net? Me, that's who! Still, I got this with the intention of testing it out and from my testing, albeit limited, it works well. It's well made and no doubt durable, too. I didn't find any tangling and it seems like it would be difficult to do so. Impressive size and I'm sure it would work well in the handles of a more experienced fisherman. Good value, I'd recommend it, especially if you are the type with a boat and like to fish things up from the deep...

Product Review: Fishing Cast Net 4ft-12ft Radius Saltwater Casting Nets for Bait Trap FishThis fishing cast net is a solid choice for anglers looking for a reliable tool to catch bait minnows. The 4ft-12ft radius provides a versatile casting range, making it suitable for both small and larger bodies of water. The net is constructed with a monofilament line, which is lightweight and durable, ensuring that it's easy to throw and can withstand the rigors of regular use in saltwater environments.Pros:Lightweight and Easy to Cast: The net's weight is well-distributed, allowing for smooth and accurate casts. This is particularly useful for beginners or those who may not have the strength to handle heavier nets.Quality Construction: The monofilament line is robust and hasn't shown any signs of tearing or fraying, even after multiple uses. The steel chain sinker ensures that the net opens fully and quickly upon impact with the water, increasing the chances of a successful catch.Mesh Size: The 3/5-inch mesh size is perfect for catching a variety of small baitfish, such as minnows, without letting them slip through. It's also small enough to prevent larger fish from getting tangled, which can reduce the risk of damage to the net.Versatility: The net is suitable for both saltwater and freshwater environments, making it a versatile addition to any angler's toolkit.Value for Money: Given its durability and effectiveness, the net offers good value for its price.Cons:None so far. Conclusion:Overall, this fishing cast net is a great investment for anyone who needs a reliable and durable tool for catching bait minnows. Its lightweight design makes it easy to handle, and the quality construction ensures that it will last through many fishing trips. Love it
casting nets can be a very frustrating endeavor. The best advice you can get is to start small than work your way up. This is the best net. I could imagine having. Its design is so much more forgiving. It doesn’t snag on big rocks like the heavier weighted ones do. And the diameter is perfect for a beginner or a smaller person. Great price as well. If you’re looking for a casting that get this one.
